Next-Generation Kinetex® Calculator Customizes Core-Shell HPLC/UHPLC Method Creation
Feb 08 2012
Phenomenex, introduces the next-generation Kinetex Calculator - an online tool that generates customized, optimized Kinetex methods for HPLC or UHPLC systems. With user input, which is entered online, the Calculator quickly produces an optimized method based on the customer's own running conditions. The enhanced Calculator incorporates all six Kinetex phases, including the new phenyl-hexyl chemistry, and will calculate a new gradient program to account for differences in column dimensions and adjustments in running conditions. Customers may also now adjust parameters such as flow rate, column length, I.D. and backpressure and quickly see a revised, optimized method.
The Kinetex Calculator helps users apply advanced core-shell technology to their current methods to produce better results, increase sample throughput and decrease solvent consumption. The tool can be accessed at: http://www.phenomenex.com/Optimize
Along with the method, the online tool calculates the improvements the user can expect by switching to Kinetex core-shell technology columns. Predicted solvent, time and total cost savings, projected over 1,000 samples, are provided.
"This next-generation tool saves time, eliminates guess work, and gets users up and running with Kinetex core-shell technology," explains Jeremy Bierman, brand manager for Phenomenex. "The new functionality that enables customers to adjust parameters gives them an even higher degree of accuracy and comfort in their specific analyses."
Kinetex core-shell technology meets researchers' need to improve results and increase productivity without large capital expenditures. Kinetex delivers significant increases in speed and separation efficiency over traditional, fully porous columns, enabling chromatographers to get UHPLC results on any HPLC instrument.
