Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital of London teams up with SpineMark

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital of London (RNOH) has partnered with SpineMark Corporation to develop a spine research unit.

As part of the agreement, RNOH will offer administrative support and clinicians in order to meet the demands of the industry and internal study goals relating to recruiting patients and investigators.

RNOH and Spinemark will monitor all of the clinical trials and manage the unit.

The short-term SRS objectives include significant research growth into the unit by supporting clinical and post-market studies that are initiated by sponsors.

Rob Hurd, chief executive of RNOH, said: "RNOH's goal is to formalize and grow its spinal research profile and accomplishments, and our partnership with SpineMark will help us advance these objectives. We are looking forward to seeing the unit develop and expand throughout the year."

Marcy Rogers, president and chief executive of SpineMark, explained that RNOH has demonstrated an impressive commitment to spinal clinical research.

"SpineMark is pleased to serve as its partner through the establishment of SRS. We expect our spine research model to serve as a significant driver of growth for the unit," Ms Rogers continued.

She continued by saying that Spinemark is broadening its international presence by partnering with RNOH, describing it as an "exciting development".

"There is an ever growing global demand for new spinal treatments and research, and we are looking forward to introducing SRS as a premier spinal research site for sponsors in the field," Ms Rogers noted.

News of Spinemark and RNOH's partnership comes after Quiron Hospital Group and Spinemark announced the opening of the Quiron San Jaime Spine Center at Quiron's San Jaime Hospital in Spain.

The centre is SpineMark's first international site and the first spine centre of excellence (COE) in Spain, the European Union and United Kingdom.

It is developed around SpineMark's patient-centric focussed COE model and features a detailed delivery system of services.
