DaVita Clinical Research presents results at Spring Clinical Meeting
Apr 05 2013
DaVita Clinical Research is currently presenting results on its nephrology and kidney care findings.
The organisation is at the National Kidney Foundation's 2013 Spring Clinical Meeting, which is running until April 6th in Orlando, Florida.
The event is a platform for America's leading renal health care providers to discover new developments in the nephrology and kidney care fields.
Researchers from DaVita will present findings from a range of innovative clinical improvement programs along with DCR, with both companies sharing a dedication to boosting the health of kidney care patients.
DCR offers a collaborative bridge between DaVita's health care community and the pharma field.
Mahesh Krishnan, vice president of clinical research, said: "Clinical research is a critical part of DaVita's work to alleviate suffering and reduce health care costs related to chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease.
"These abstracts are the result of significant investments in clinical research, and we believe the findings demonstrate the value of that investment."
At the 2013 Spring Clinical Meeting, DaVita will focus on a number of key research initiatives, including assessments of the length of stay and re-admissions among end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and Non-ESRD patients, and how the timing of albumin testing impacts corrected calcium levels.
Other aims of the work include evaluating haemoglobin trends and the potential impact it can have on transfusions under new ESA guidelines for patients with ESRD at large dialysis organisations.
Another target of the research is to establish how a number of anemia protocols permit anemia control and physician choice.
DaVita Clinical Research uses a comprehensive database to help pharma companies design, recruit and complete clinical trials.
The company has over 150 client companies, illustrating its considerable presence in the medicine market. It is also focused on offering world-class research in complex and speciality populations.
