Easy Trapping and Analysis of Beer Aroma
Nov 19 2012
Available from Hichrom Limited, GL Sciences have published an application note demonstrating the easy trapping and analysis of beer aroma components, using monolithic based MonoTrap materials. These beer aroma components were successfully isolated following a simple direct contact adsorption technique and subsequent analysis with an InertCap Pure-WAX GC column and Shimadzu GC-2010, GCMS-QP2010. 32 peaks of interest were identified.
MonoTrap is a state-of-the-art tool for the extraction and analysis of volatile and semi-volatile components by MMSE (Monolithic Material Sorption Extraction). A range of applications have already been identified including analysis of cherry blossom, red wine, body odours, soap, lavender, fatty acids in the atmosphere, organic solvents in the atmosphere, coffee, tea, gasoline residues, mango juice, curry powder, bread and non-polar metabolites from human plasma. Copies of all application notes and further details of MonoTrap Monolithic Material Sorption Extraction materials, are available on request from Hichrom Limited on Tel: +44 (0) 118 930 3660 or www.hichrom.co.uk
